Introduction of Me!

This is me
My name is Patricia Nichole Brooks, but you can call me Nickel. I am 15 years old. I live in the forks of the river here in Mammoth Cave, Kentucky, with my parents and 3 younger siblings. I am a musical, country girl. I am still by far my daddy’s princess though. My favorite music is 1960 through early 2000 country music. I love volleyball, and I love being in the woods with nothing but the music of nature and my dog. My dog is a long haired, American flat back, German shepherd named Abe. Where lots of people have a group of friends that they mainly hang around, I have him. We both love nature and are very close.

Even though I like the outdoors, my least favorite season is summer. That being said my favorite is fall. I like capturing “all the colors of the wind” in my camera. I love the cool and bright colored leaves falling into place, as the wind sweeps them off their feet up into the sky to take a journey. Fall always struck me as a magical season. Most see it as when nature dies, but to me it has just went into a peaceful slumber, in which it will awaken from in the spring. When autumn is upon us, I sit outside and take in the chilled, refreshing air, as I try to unravel the mysteries of life. Fall has always brought peace to me. The wind stirs up all my dreams in my heart, and reminds me that anything and everything is possible if you’ll just believe. My favorite activity in fall is racking up all the leaves and jumping into them. The most important part about this, is family is there with you to take in the happiness that flutters through the air.

Along with autumn comes Thanksgiving. A holiday many people tend to skip in exchange for Christmas. Christmas is a wonderful holiday, don’t get me wrong, but the people who skip ahead mainly do it for the gifts and great deals. It shouldn’t be like that though. I want to enjoy every chance I get to be with my family; Thanksgiving is one of those moments. A gift God gave to us that we take for granted everyday of our lives is family. Word of advice, don’t take it for granted, it won’t last for long.

Another reason I like Thanksgiving is every year we do a talent show. My whole family participates. My cousin has a tradition where every year he sings Elvira by The Oak Ridge Boys. It’s quite a show. Ever since I was little I have had a passion for music. I like strumming on the guitar and playing the piano. I have wrote songs and dreamed of becoming a country music singer for as far back as I can remember. Music is my escape from the world around me. All I ever want is to bring back the true meaning of country, something the world has forgotten. Not only do I have an affection for music but all kinds of art. I compose fiction books, draw, paint, design poetry, and participate in photography. Art has a special place in my heart next to my dreams. I have a mission to let the world know nothing is impossible.

I have an unmanageable imagination. I lose my self in my thoughts. I am a deep thinker and dream of things most people would never think of. Such as imaginary places just beyond the horizon, a city in the clouds, creatures of the majestic woods, or maybe just the perfect family, or wining a volleyball game that people say is impossible. I’m told repeatedly “quite living in a fantasy world, and meet reality”, or my personal favorite “get your head out of the clouds and back down on earth”. When I’m in that so called “Fantasy World” though, I’m perfectly content. There’s a saying “We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars”; I’m definitely one of those people. I get so lost in happiness, fairy tales, and dreams, no reality in the world could reach me. That’s just who I am, and I won’t change for no one.
